This is a quick project made from left over material.
The finished size is approx: 9 " x 10".
Materials needed.
One length of material, your choice of pattern, patchwork printed material works well.
size approx: width-10 inches, length-24 inches
Second length of any material , to use to line the inside, same size as above
4 jingle bells
small amount of glass beads to sew on name
character button, or any pretty button
wadding( same as used in quilted patchwork), or, use toy stuffing flattened out.
3-4 inches of fancy 1/4" ribbon, and a small bow
To start, lay your patterned material, right side down on table,
measure in from left 12" and pin a straight line from the top to the bottom on the material,
measure in 12" from right and pin a straight line from the top to the bottom on the material.
The section between these two pins is the front size of your pillow.
Take your wadding(or stuffing), and place over the middle section only.
It has to cover the whole of the middle square.
Now place the other piece of material over the top, sandwiching the wadding in the middle.
Re-pin through the two pieces of material.
Now sew (hand or sewing machine) all the way round the outside edge of the middle square,
this will enclose the wadding between the two pieces of material.
Turn over so you are looking at the right side of you pillow.
If you have any pretty patterns or designs, you could do small slip stitches
round one or two of them at this stage to give you a quilted effect.
If the pillow is for someone special, look for a suitable place on this quilted section
to sew their name on , using the small glass beads. Or you could put , Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas etc....
Next, have the right side of your work facing you , and at the short sides,(see fig1.) fold in a 1/2"hem,
from the right side towards the inside, and on the lining material, fold the hem to meet the right side. Now sew hems together 1/4" from edge.
This will give you a neat edge on inside and outside.
Do the other short side the same.

With right side facing you, fold left side over
until you have the sewing line that outlines the padded square in the middle just showing.
Do the same with the right hand side.
The folded in sections should overlap in the middle by about 2inches. (see fig 2)

Now sew a 1/2 inch hem along the top and bottom open edges.
When finished this, turn the whole pillow right side out.
You should now have and envelope type pillow!
To decorate.
Sew the jungle bells to each corner.
Turn over to the back and place and sew the button at the middle of opening.
Fold in half, and sew the ribbon in place so that it will catch over the button to close the opening.
Place and sew on the bow over the sewing on the ribbon.
Finished!
