This is easy!
All of us are very aware of conservation and recycling.
For this , collect all your glass jars, you know the ones that you get jam, pickles, cook-in sauces in, keep an eye open for ones that have patterns molded into the glass, they`re really good.
First clean them thouroughly, taking time to remove all the labels and that awful sticky stuff they use.
A hint:- white spirit or nail varnish remover usually works!
Dry them very well, and wipe over with white spirit, this removes any grease.
Now for the decoration.
If you do decopage, you can apply whatever you like
and varnish over the top making sure that the edges are well adheared to the glass.
To make ones like those above ,
use glass paint, or I`ve been told you can mix acrylic paint
with varnish to give a similar effect. I`ve never tried this so experiment and let me know how it works.
I use glass paints and liner, and fire them in the oven.
They are then permanent for washing, but not the dishwasher.
They can be used for storage jars, for presents.
And, some of the ones above have night lights in
to be used on the patio. If you put citronella candles
in they keep the beasties at bay also!!
I have sold these at car boot sales, table top sales and school fundraisers,
they do very well.
If you use a holiday decoration, say Halloween, or Christmas,
you can sell them all year round!!
Hope you try this and enjoy making them.
